Texas A&M Aggies 2025 Season Preview
If Texas A&M’s O-line plays like advertised, they’ll bully their way into the Playoff convo. But the season comes down to four road games … @ Texas, @ LSU, @ Notre Dame, @ Mizzou. Win three, you’re in. Win one, you’re irrelevant.
Big Boys Up Front. Big Goals Down the Road.
🧠 Key to the Season:
Let the O-Line Eat
This offensive line is filthy.
Veterans, NFL bodies, real grown men in the trenches. This unit might be the best front five in the country.
Last season told the story:
- 6-0 when rushing for 170+ yards
- 2-5 when they didn’t.
A&M doesn’t need to finesse its way to wins. They just need to bash you for four quarters, let Marcel Reed cook, and wear down secondaries by halftime.
💪 Key Player:
TJ Searcy, EDGE (Junior)
Someone’s gotta bring the heat.
With a big chunk of the 2024 pass rush gone, it’s on guys like Searcy and Dayon Hayes to fill the void. Searcy flashed at Florida, but now he’s got the chance and platform to blow up.
Keep an eye on Jordan Shaw, too. He’s a hybrid safety/ball-hawk transfer who might end up doing a little bit of everything.
🔁 Top Transfer In:
KC Concepcion, WR (Junior)
Certified bucket-getter.
A&M needed a playmaker — they got the best one in the portal.
KC racked up 18 total TDs at NC State and now slides into the slot in College Station, where he’ll be a matchup nightmare and part-time RB if needed. He’s got “SEC problem” written all over him.
📤 Biggest Transfer Loss:
Conner Weigman, QB (Junior)
Would’ve been nice to have him in the QB room.
He’s got size, arm talent, and reps but he’s Houston’s problem now. Marcel Reed is the guy. Time to ride with him.
📆 Key Game:
@ Texas – November 29
The hate is back.
And this time, it actually matters.
A&M hasn’t beaten Texas since 2010 (they stopped playing in ‘11), and the Longhorns stole a 17-7 win last year. Now, both teams could be fighting for the Playoff positioning when this one kicks.
Winner gets the glory. Loser gets the offseason chirps.
🔟 Top 10 Aggies to Know:

📊 Fun Stats from 2024:
- 2Q Points: A&M 109 – Opponents 53
- Time of Possession: 31:43 avg (they control games)
- Punt Return Yards: A&M 3.9 avg — maybe… don’t do that again
🧨 Unc’s Outlook
The schedule lines up better than usual — no Bama, no Georgia, no Tennessee, no Oklahoma. That’s rare air in the SEC.
Still, here’s the gauntlet:
@ Notre Dame, @ LSU, @ Missouri, @ Texas
Go 3-1, and you’re in the damn Playoff.
Go 2-2, and it gets murky.
Go 1-3… see you in Orlando.
The rest? Winnable. But you better sweep Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina at home. Drop any of those, and November turns into a panic sprint.
Mike Elko’s got the pieces. If this team stays healthy, it could be a 10-win breakthrough. If not, 8-4 might still be the floor.
🎯 The Call:
Win Total Projection: 8.0
Predicted Record: 9-3
Playoff Dark Horse. SEC Contender. Pressure’s On.
