Huskers About to Turn Arrowhead Into Memorial Stadium West

Sixty thousand.

That’s how many Nebraska fans are about to roll into Arrowhead for the opener against Cincinnati — and that’s not a typo. AD Troy Dannen says 66,000 tickets are sold, and Husker Nation bought damn near all of ‘em. KC’s about to look like Lincoln with BBQ.

This thing was supposed to be at Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium. Then Indy. Now? Kansas City — because UC saw the dollar signs. They’re pulling 75% of the ticket revenue, cashing a check that could hit $6 million. When your athletic department’s pockets are screaming, you take the payday and smile.

For Nebraska, it’s a dream scenario: closest road trip since joining the Big Ten, easy drive from Lincoln and Omaha, and a chance to flex in an NFL stadium. For Cincinnati? Congrats — you just turned a home game into a full-blown Husker invasion.

First meeting in 119 years, and Cincy’s walking into a three-and-a-half-hour Red Wave. Might as well paint the end zones red now and save the trouble.

Arrowhead ain’t ready.
