Arkansas Razorbacks 2025 Season Preview
The Razorbacks don’t have margin for error — and fumbling 30 times last year nearly buried them. If Taylen Green protects the ball and the defense finds a pulse off the edge, this team can scrap its way to another 7-win season. Nothing easy. Nothing guaranteed.
Hang Onto the Damn Ball — or Hang It Up.
🧠 Key to the Season:
Stop Putting the Ball on the Turf
This team fumbled 30 times last season. That’s not a typo. That’s damn near once every other drive.
Forget “turnover margin” and all that cute analytics talk. Arkansas went 6-1 when they didn’t cough it up twice. They went 1-5 when they did.
You want to win in the SEC? Protect the football like your job depends on it…because it does.
💪 Key Player:
Charlie Collins, EDGE (Sophomore)
With Landon Jackson gone, the edge rush production has to come from somewhere. The coaching staff is throwing bodies at the problem: portal guys, freshmen, maybe a prayer or two.
But Charlie Collins has the tools to emerge. If he steps up, this defense has a shot to hold water. If not… it’s bend, break, and blame the offense again.
🔁 Top Transfer In:
Corey Robinson II, OT (Senior)
Biggest portal need? Check.
Corey Robinson was a quietly elite tackle at Georgia Tech, and now he anchors the Hogs’ front. At 6’5”, 307, he’s the first line of defense for Taylen Green and the run game.
He locks down one tackle spot. Fernando Carmona shifts inside. That’s a win.
📤 Biggest Transfer Loss:
Patrick Kutas, OG (Senior)
Would’ve loved to keep him. NFL body, smart, consistent. He’ll be a plug-and-play guy for Ole Miss now. Not a disaster, but definitely a loss.
📆 Key Game:
@ Ole Miss – September 20
Here comes the fire early.
Last year, Arkansas got bombed 63-31 by the Rebels — at home. Now they’ve gotta walk into Oxford and try to stop that trend.
The next three?
@ Memphis, vs. Notre Dame, @ Tennessee.
Survive this stretch, and you’ve got a shot. Collapse, and the season’s over before October.
🔟 Top 10 Razorbacks to Watch:
- Fernando Carmona, OG – Steady, nasty, pro-ready.
- Taylen Green, QB – Size, speed, needs consistency.
- Xavian Sorey Jr., LB – Sideline-to-sideline juice.
- Stephen Dix Jr., LB – Veteran presence in the middle.
- O’Mega Blake, WR – Real WR1 upside.
- Corey Robinson II, OT – Instant impact transfer.
- Cameron Ball, DT – Anchor on the interior.
- David Oke, DT – Rotational beast with upside.
- Mike Washington, RB – Needs a clean bill of health.
- Julian Neal, CB – Long, rangy, and aggressive.
📊 Fun Stats from 2024:
- Fumbles: Arkansas 30 (lost 14)
- 1st Quarter Points: Arkansas 103 – Opponents 58
- 3rd Down %: 44% conversion rate (solid)
They started fast. They moved the chains. They just couldn’t finish drives — or protect the ball.
🧨 Unc’s Outlook
Let’s be honest — this schedule is filthy.
@ Ole Miss
@ Memphis
Notre Dame
@ Tennessee
Texas A&M
@ LSU
@ Texas
Missouri
That’s eight games where you’ll probably be a dog — and six of them are either on the road or neutral.
But here’s the upside:
- No Georgia.
- No Bama.
- No Florida.
- No South Carolina.
So if Arkansas can go 3-0 in the layups (Alabama A&M, Arkansas State, Miss State) and steal 3-4 more out of the chaos pile, they’re bowling again.
A third 7-6 season in four years feels right. Not elite. Not a disaster. Just right.
🎯 The Call:
Win Total Projection: 6.5
Predicted Record: 7-5
Bowl Team. Dangerous Spoiler. But not a contender yet.
